The capital of Germany has a very rich colorful historical and cultural background. The city has suffered much from the Second World War and its division that followed but since then it had evolved into a cultural center that also welcomes all contemporary forms of art as well as millions of tourists every year.
Berlin City Landmarks
Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche. This church was built between 1891 and 1895 and it was designed by architect Franz Schwechten. The Reichstag hosts the parliament meetings and is was constructed in the 19 th century and then renewed several times last between 1995 and 1999 when the architecture Sir Norman Foster designed a glass dome over the plenary hall. Berliner Fernsehturm in translation the TV tower is located in the Alexanderplatz and is one of the tallest in Europe measuring 368 meters. The revolving Telecafe on the top level draws the attention of huge crowds of visitors, offering spectacular views. More info about Berliner Fernsehturm
Olympiastadion (Olympic Stadium) is one o the oldest stadiums. Still in use, it used dates back in 1936 and it was built at Hitler's request for the Olympic Games that took place that year and it hosted the final match of FIFA World Cup 2006. Find out more about Olympiastadion
